Our Feliciathon continues

We have someone who wanted to give a partial chunk of $20, she was then matched by someone else for another $20. Then we had someone give another $100 chunk...
for those keeping track that means we are at $440 of the $600 needed!

Yay God.

Thank you so much for all of you who have given. I am completely humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to do something people are excited about!

Yours,
Christine

UPDATE!!

It has comes to my attention that if the money needed (approx. $600) was broken down into smaller chunks, say 6 $100 chunks, we would be able to get this floor done and Felicity that much closer to being opened!
So as of now, I have 2 people willing to give $100. That's $200 hundred towards the goal! If you are interested in giving a "chunk" PLEASE EMAIL ME.
I feel a little like PBS.

Thank you for those willing to give!!!!

This week at Felicity...

My Dear Felicitites,

As i sit in Starbucks on this April Fools Day writing to you, i only wish I was joking. We have found ourselves at a standstill with Felicity. In order to move on, we really need the wood floors redone, however the cost is not in our budget. So i am waiting, canvassing and praying for money to finish the project. I ask that you pray with me.
Also - every time the painter has scheduled us into his busy life to come and begin the exterior, the weather has not cooperated with him. As soon as we have some consistent weather (i know that's an oxymoron in Colorado) we will be able to move on the outside.
So it looks to me Felicity will be delayed in its opening. REGARDLESS, in the words of Winston Churchill, i promise to "NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!"

Yours affectionately,
Christine

Floors!

Well we have had some great progress today!  John Williams has come and torn up the rest of the laminate flooring in the Kitchen and in the Bathroom.  The kitchen floor is now ready to be built on and tomorrow i may shop for new laminate!
The bathroom has a bit more work, we found mold and will have to take care of that before laying the tile.
BUT it's PROGRESS!
Yay us!

Quote Time

"Most women still need a room of their own and the only way to find it may be outside their own homes"
-Germaine Greer, Feminist author and activist

Love it! This is everything Felicity wants to be.  A room of our own.  Maybe we should stencil this in somewhere in the house!

UPDATE:
Still waiting to hear back from the Foursquare Foundation Grant to see if we were accepted for a grant.
We have been cleaning the house and are ready to tackle the wood floor.  The floor in the kitchen has also been coming up and we will retile or do something to it.  I am praying to get everything done so we can open soon!

Waiting...

So this week, I have sent off a grant application to the Foursquare Foundation.  I have asked for 10,000 of the 25, 000 I would love to have to have to really get our little felicity house moving. We will know March 1, if we have qualified for a closer look.
Also, the Exterior Painter has scheduled twice and both times we have been met with inclement weather.  We have yet to reschedule.
So I have turned my attention to the interior of the house and hope to have it all cleaned up and finished soon.  My wonderful husband is really pushing to finish!  Yay!  Progress!

Keep praying!

Christine
